There are following types of plasters are available.

  1. Cement Plaster : Cement Plaster is a commonly used plaster for construction work. When cement is used as a binder then it is known as cement plaster. Usually, it is being used in one coat only. Coat’s thickness is totally depends on building type or the conditions of site. For RCC surfaces, 1:4 or 1:3 Ratio for plastering with the thickness of 6mn is recommended. Cement plaster is the  most suitable plaster for dampness.
  2. Lime Plaster : Lime plaster is basically a composition of sand, hydrated lime and water. When lime is used as a binder then it is known as lime plaster. Lime plaster’s mortar is generally prepared by mixing lime and sand in equal proportions. To improve strength, little quantity off cement can also be added to it.
  3. Stucco Plaster : Stucco plaster is well known fir giving excellent finish as it is a type of decorative plaster. It us highly being used for exterior and interior surfaces. The total thickness made by stucco plaster is about 25mm as it is generally laid in three coats. Scratch coat is the first coat, fine coat is the second one and the third one is finishing coat.
  4. Mud Plaster : The surface needed for mud plaster is exactly the same for lime and cement plaster. Mud plaster is usually applied in two coats.
